SUMMER 2024 K – An Introduction to Talk for Writing in KS2 – FULLY BOOKED

For Primary Headteachers, English Subject Leaders, and KS2 Teachers.

What the training will cover

This training will provide a coherent system for teaching writing in KS2 using the Talk for Writing approach. Packed with practical strategies to develop children as confident writers, the four sessions will:

* explore how to help children build up a store of writing techniques and patterns

* provide teachers with a bank of imaginative ideas for developing and improving writing

* consider the link between learning model texts, quality literature and great writing

* look at how spelling and grammar can be taught in relation to writing.

Tuesday 16th April 2024 – 4pm-5.15pm BST
Tuesday 23rd April 2024 – 4pm-5.15pm BST
Tuesday 30th April 2024 – 4pm-5.15pm BST
Wednesday 8th May 2024 – 4pm-5.15pm BST

Costs

Price per delegate for four sessions of training is £195.00 +VAT (which equates to £48.75 per training session).

Discount: 10% discount on ALL places when a school books more than one person on the same course. Meaning two delegates cost £351 (which equates to £43.88 per person, per session).

How the online training works

Training will take place via Zoom over four sessions. Delegates will need to attend ALL four of these sessions as there will be gap tasks between each session. Each delegate will need their own desktop or laptop computer with a working camera. There are further details on this PDF.

Talk for Writing has proved to be one of the most successful initiatives undertaken in the school and continues to support consistency in approach as well as both children’s and teachers’ understanding of what constitutes truly effective, creative writing.
