NOV 2020 – Talk for Reading in KS2

Due to Covid-19 we will no longer be running this conference as planned. We will be contacting all delegates already booked on the course to offer them an online alternative or to cancel if they prefer.

For Primary Headteachers, English Subject Leaders, KS2 Primary Teachers.

Talk for Reading is a tried-and-tested whole-school approach that has been developed in high attaining schools, often in challenging areas, and is proven to raise standards.

The day will introduce a clear and logical sequence for teaching reading in the KS2 that moves children towards independence. We will focus on the importance of deepening understanding through developing key reading strategies. This will be based on whole class modelling and shared reading, as well as effective guided and one-to-one teaching to deepen children’s understanding and engagement.

The approach has been developed and piloted in schools that have seen considerable improvement in their reading SATs. There will be KS2 examples from the pilot, as well as key activities that can be immediately adopted. The focus will be on developing children as appreciative, effective and skilful readers.

Conferences run 9.30am-3.30pm. They include a hot fork buffet lunch and refreshments throughout the day. A comprehensive delegate pack is provided.

Price per delegate is £195.00 + VAT.

Discount: 10% discount on ALL places when a school books more than one person on the same course.
