Join us for an inspiring open morning designed for school leaders, English leads, Early Years practitioners and teachers who would like to gain an insight into the Talk for Writing approach.
During the morning, you will explore the core principles of Talk for Writing, including the imitation, innovation and independent application stages and gain an understanding of how these support children’s earliest experience of storytelling, mark making and writing.
The morning will include:
• An introduction to the Talk for Writing approach and teaching sequence for Early Years.
• An overview of how Talk for Writing supports children’s earliest experiences of storytelling and early writing development.
• Practical examples and strategies for story invention, showing how children’s ideas develop from shared storytelling into independent story creation.
• A learning walk to experience our language-rich, Early Years environment.
• Opportunities to explore children’s books to see progression from mark making to independent writing.
