Join us for an inspiring open morning designed for school leaders, English leads and teachers who would like to gain an insight into the Talk for Writing approach.

During the morning, you will explore the core principles of Talk for Writing, including the imitation, innovation and independent application stages and gain an understanding of the teaching sequence that supports children in becoming confident, independent writers.

Visitors will also discover how Talk for Writing is embedded within our curriculum from Year R to Year 6, seeing how the approach develops progressively across the school.

The morning will include:
• An introduction to the Talk for Writing approach and teaching sequence.
• An overview of our curriculum design from Reception to Year 6.
• A learning walk to experience our language-rich learning environment.
• Opportunities to explore pupils’ books and see examples of writing across the school.
• Conversations with our pupils about how Talk for Writing has helped them develop as writers.
