TfW Primary Expert in Northern Ireland
Michelle is based in Northern Ireland. Having had her ‘inner writer’ awoken, inspired and empowered by the Talk for Writing approach as a teacher and senior-leader, Michelle implemented Talk for Writing across Caversham Primary School in Reading, England.
During her former teaching career, as part of a three-year transformative project led by Pie Corbett, Talk for Writing proved to be very successful in developing a progressive, engaging and consistent approach across the school, as well as raising expert understanding of what constitutes truly effective, creative writing for both teachers and pupils.
Prior to moving back to Northern Ireland, Michelle’s school-based experience as a Year 6 teacher included Literacy Leader, KS2 Leader and SENCO. She was also a Writing Moderator for Reading LEA.
Michelle is the founder of her own creative writing company, as well as a freelance writing facilitator for the Pushkin Trust, Poetry in Motion and the Western Health and Social Care Trust.
Michelle is available for the following:
– Consultancy support for leaders implementing Talk for Writing as a whole school approach
– Training in all aspects of writing in EYFS, KS1 and KS2
– Planning support/workshops for teachers
