Discover Talk for Writing in Action at Greenvale
Greenvale is opening its doors to teachers and school leaders for a Talk for Writing Open Morning.
The morning will provide an opportunity to see Talk for Writing in action across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, explore how the approach has been embedded across the school and hear from staff about their practice.
Thursday 19 November, 9.30am to 12 noon
What to expect
The morning will include a tour of the school and opportunities to see Talk for Writing in classrooms. Greenvale will share its approach to:
- the key stages of immersion, innovation and invention
- reading as a reader and reading as a writer
- language games and active learning
- developing effective writing toolkits
- feedback, marking and assessment
- whole-school planning and progression
- creating a classroom culture that celebrates writing
- teaching poetry and non-fiction
- leading and embedding Talk for Writing across a school
Light refreshments will be provided. Free on-site parking is available, and the school has good transport links from East Croydon station.
